04 L’ORTO BOTANICO

BRANDING & IDENTITYSPRING 2025
Florence’s L’Orto Botanico “Giardino dei Semplici” is one of the world’s oldest botanical gardens, home to over 9,000 plant species.  The refreshed logo is inspired by the distinctive window structures that frame the greenhouses of L’Orto. This window fragment serves as both a symbol of the sunlight essential for photosynthesis and a visual echo of the museum’s architectural identity. Designed as a modular element, the logo can be stacked across deliverables to create dynamic windowpane compositions of varying sizes.

The color palette features refined shades of yellow, green, and purple. The yellow and green are modernized interpretations of the building’s original hues, bridging the site’s historical significance with a contemporary identity. The purple represents the flora and fauna that populate the garden. This balance of heritage and modernity reflects L’Orto’s evolving role—not just as a historical landmark, but as a living space that continues to adapt.
